Suspected DUI driver arrested after fatal crash in East San Jose (BCN) -- A man suspected of drunken driving was arrested early Sunday after his pickup was involved in a fatal collision in East San Jose, police said.The wreck was reported shortly after 1 a.m. near the intersection of North Jackson Avenue and Alexian Drive, which is close to Regional Medical Center of San Jose. Petaluma police investigating death threats written on high school bathroom wall The driver of a 2003 Dodge truck traveling north on Jackson Avenue tried to make a left turn into an apartment complex and collided with a southbound 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle, police said.The man riding the motorcycle was taken to a hospital, where he died. However, according to pest control giant Orkin, San Francisco also has a serious problem with the troublesome rodents.Orkin has released its annual list of America’s “rattiest” cities, and the City by the Bay landed in the number five spot.Chicago was number one for the ninth consecutive year. Santa Clara deputies arrest man illegally building table in parking lot on firearm, drug charges (KRON) -- A man who police say was illegally building a table in the parking lot of a San Jose light rail station was arrested on weapons and drug charges, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office. Santa Clara Sheriff's Deputy Mohamed was conducting a patrol check of the Snell Light Rail Station when he encountered a man who was illegally parked and building a table, police said. Alaska Airlines plane diverted to Portland Airport after ‘credible threat’ The deputy cited the man for illegal parking and admonished him for trespassing. When the man refused to leave after a substantial amount of time, he was arrested for trespassing.While arresting the man, officers found a stolen, loaded firearm, a methamphetamine pipe and a slim jim, according to police. The suspect was arrested for possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.The sheriff's office did not provide the date or time that the incident occurred.

Bright meteor caught on camera in Aurora DENVER (KDVR) -- On Saturday morning, an at-home video caught a bright meteor that was part of the Orionids meteor shower. The Orionids occur from Sept. 26 to Nov. 22, peaking on Oct. 21, when this video was captured. During the peak, it's estimated that you can see approximately 23 meteors per hour in moonless skies, according to NASA Science. (WSVN) – A 30-year-old Fort Lauderdale man was arrested on Sunday after he stole a Jeep from a marina on Stock Island, authorities said. Ross James Lund now faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle.The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Hurricane Hole Restaurant, Bar & Marina around 1:30 p.m., regarding a stolen vehicle. The vehicle’s keys had reportedly been left inside. According to MCSO, witnesses observed Lund entering the Jeep and driving away. He allegedly told one witness that he needed to head to Miami and inquired about other vehicles in the parking lot.Shortly after, the Sheriff’s Office spotted the stolen Jeep traveling northbound on U.S. 1 near Mile Marker 29, with Lund as the sole occupant. BSO searching for 79-year-old woman last seen at FLL The Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 79-year-old woman who was last seen at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.Dieula Lafleur was last seen around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, near 300 Terminal Drive at FLL. She was wearing a blue dress at the time. Lafleur is described as weighing approximately 240 pounds and stands at 5 feet in height, with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities said her family has indicated that she has medical conditions that require medication, and she communicates only in Creole.Authorities urge anyone with information about Dieula Lafleur’s whereabouts to contact BSO Detective Chris Blankenship at 954-321-4268 or the BSO non-emergency number 954-764-HELP (4357).
