U.S. Postal Inspection Service offering $50K reward for tips on Aurora post office robbery The United States Postal Inspection Service and Aurora police are seeking tips about a suspect who robbed an Aurora post office Monday afternoon.The armed robbery occurred about 2:26 p.m. at the 1550 Dayton St. location, the USPIS said on Twitter. The suspect is described as a middle-aged man wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, light jeans, a surgical mask and carrying a blue bag, authorities said. He displayed a black handgun at the time of the robbery, police said.Tipsters are asked to call USPIS at 1-877-876-2455. L.A. County hospital seeks help identifying female patient Hospital officials at Providence Saint John’s Health Center are asking for the public’s help in identifying a female patient in the intensive care unit.  The woman was found unconscious in an alley near 1701 S. Ocean Front Walk in Santa Monica on June 10 and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.  The hospital did not release any specifics about her medical condition, but said the patient is “unable to participate in her care.”  The patient is described as a white female, possibly in her 60’s or older, who is approximately 5 feet tall and around 95 pounds.  The unidentified female patient was brought to the hospital on June 10 after she was found unconscious in Santa Monica. Santa Barbara Co. man convicted of child molestation charges A Ventura County jury convicted 83-year-old Carillo Chavez of Lompoc of five felony counts of lewd conduct and substantial sexual conduct with a child under age 14 on Friday. On Monday, the same jury also found that the victim was vulnerable and Chavez took advantage of a trusted relationship with the victim in order to commit the crimes. According to a Ventura County District Attorney news release, Chavez, who was already a convicted child molester from 1995, sexually abused the young victim at least five times at two locations in Ventura County between October 2001 and October 2002.The young victim, who is now an adult, reported the crimes years later and Chavez was charged and convicted. "The prosecution team is grateful for the extended statute of limitations for child molestation that allowed this prosecution,” said Deputy District Attorney Reber, who prosecuted the case. “But for the tremendous bravery of the victim, justice could not have been done.”Chavez is s...
