(KRON) -- Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Oakland) said she is "troubled" by remarks Gov. Gavin Newsom made about appointing an interim replacement for Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Feinstein, 90, is not running for reelection. Lee, along with Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) and Rep. Katie Porter (D-Irvine), is one of three leading candidates to fill the veteran senator's seat.Newsom has previously stated that if Feinstein were to resign, he would appoint a Black woman to the seat. In an appearance on "Meet the Press" this weekend, Newsom reiterated that position. However, when pressed by the show's host, Newsom said he would not appoint any of the people currently running for the seat, which would preclude Lee from being appointed."I don't want to get involved in the primary," said Newsom in remarks cited by Politico, adding it would be "completely unfair to the Democrats that have worked their tail off."While Newsom stopped short of saying outright that he would appoint a caretaker to the seat, he decli...Trump lawyers seek recusal of judge in DC presiding over federal election subversion case

DENVER (AP) — Despite coach Sean Payton’s dud of a Denver debut, the Broncos’ season opener showed his restoration of quarterback Russell Wilson is going well. Now, if Wilson can get Jerry Jeudy and Greg Dulcich back on the field, he might be able to throw for more than the 177 yards he did Sunday in Denver’s 17-16 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.Jeudy was inactive after being limited in practice upon his return from a pulled right hamstring late in camp and Dulcich left after apparently pulling a hamstring on the opening drive of the second half. He missed seven games as a rookie last year because of chronic hamstring issues.Wilson managed just 52 yards in the air after halftime.“Obviously if you have Dulcich in and Jerry, I mean they’re …” Wilson said before stopping himself. “I still think we should have won that game.”His last drive was Denver’s only three-and-out, however, and the defense couldn’t get the ball back to Wilson as Jimmy Garoppolo a...Tropical Storm Margot strengthens into a hurricane as it spins in Atlantic on path that will keep it over open waters

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans realize they have to play better and know exactly what they need to fix. They also aren’t panicking after a one-point loss on the road in one of the NFL’s toughest places to play. Coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that new right guard Daniel Brunskill reminded him after their 16-15 loss in New Orleans that the San Francisco 49ers also lost their opener a year ago and still reached the NFC championship game. “We need to keep improving,” Vrabel said. “And we say this all the time. The teams that improve are going to be the ones that are playing in January.”The Titans didn’t score a single touchdown with Ryan Tannehill playing his worst game. That didn’t help an offense that ranked 28th in the NFL last season in scoring.Vrabel made a bunch of offseason moves in trying to boost the offense, firing coordinator Todd Downing and promoting Tim Kelly along with making other position changes. The Titans held the ball...Have things become more expensive in Denver?

DENVER (KDVR) -- If you've noticed that you're paying more for certain things than you were last year, you aren't alone. Data shows this is the case.FOX31 used the Cost of Living Index, which is published by the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER), a nationally recognized economic research organization, to see which aspects of life were more or less expensive than this time last year. The study takes the average cost of living in the country and sets that as the standard with a score of 100. Cities with a score above that cost more than the average, and cities with a score below cost less. Denver’s newly built housing stock lags behind US Denver's current Cost of Living score is 110.2, which means it's 10.2% more expensive to live in Denver than in the average American city. However, that doesn't tell the whole story.Using raw pricing data from the index in 2022 and 2023, FOX31 found where things have become more or less expensive in Denver over the past year.Home own...2 arrested in fight after Broncos game
