Ufologist displays 'alien corpses' during Mexico's UFO hearings, scientists call fraud (NewsNation) — As Mexico's Congress held its first hearing on UFOs, a self-proclaimed ufologist unveiled what he claimed were alien corpses from Peru.Journalist Jaime Maussan, who has previously been connected to alien claims that were later proven false, testified under oath that he and others believed the bodies are “non-human beings that are not part of our terrestrial evolution." In his testimony, he said the Autonomous National University of Mexico had examined the bodies and found unknown DNA. He also said X-rays showed there were eggs inside them.“It’s the queen of all evidence," Maussan claimed. “That is, if the DNA is showing us that they are non-human beings and that there is nothing that looks like this in the world, we should take it as such.”But he warned that he didn't want to refer to them as “extraterrestrials” just yet.The two mummified corpses were discovered in the sandy Peruvian coastal desert of Nazca in 2017. Bruce Corrie: What did I learn at the Fair? We have something good going here. I had the opportunity of a lifetime when the Minnesota State Fair offered me a booth in the Education building. My project, Cultural Destinations, featured 50+ cultural businesses who offered Minnesota resources on how to enjoy that cultural dish, gift or fashion accessory. This was perhaps the most diverse group of cultural entrepreneurs assembled in one space at the State Fair and in Minnesota too. A short video would introduce people to, for example, Somali bread or Filipino or Jamaican dishes, the restaurant and owner and how to get there. A website and link gave them access to the video even after the Fair. This way people had a preview before they went to the restaurant/business and had someone they could connect with. The goal was offering resources to help people enjoy cultural experiences. Businesses would be present at the booth to display their offerings. For 12 days at the Fair, I met at least 1,500 people passing by who were from all across Minnesota —  from near th...

Biden White House strategy for impeachment inquiry: Dismiss. Compartmentalize. Scold. Fundraise. WASHINGTON — On Capitol Hill, House Republicans were all-in Wednesday on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s announcement of an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. Down Pennsylvania Avenue, the president was holding forth at the White House on the importance of bipartisanship in fighting cancer — and ignoring shouted questions about impeachment. It was a clear sign of Biden’s broader reelection pitch: the idea that if he simply does his job and governs, Americans will see the results and reward him with four more years. Never mind all that pesky impeachment talk across town.Just an hour earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had dismissed the inquiry as a “political stunt” and deflected questions about the details to the White House Counsel’s Office.House Republicans? “We think they should work with us on legitimate issues — things that actually matter to the American people,” she said. The we’re-all-better-than-this attitude is central to the White House strateg...
