Despite up-and-down performances in the first two games at Fiserv Forum of this best-of-seven Eastern Conference first-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he believes his team has grown grounded for such moments, with deep playoff runs in two of the three previous postseasons.“We’ve been through a lot as a group in a lot of playoff situations, but also just this year,” he said of a season that required constant rotation reshuffling. “And I think we’ve been able to manage a lot of different emotions and just stay the course.“I think that’s built up the requisite type of resilience that you need in a playoff series against a good team.”Spoelstra, ahead of Saturday night’s Game 3 at the Kaseya Center, also said there was no need to get overly caught up on the playing status of Giannis Antetokounmpo, with a respect in place for the Bucks’ depth of talent, including Jrue Holiday...Uxbridge to be home to Ontario’s newest provincial park

They are near major urban centres in the GTA and perfect for hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing,” said Uxbridge mayor Dave Barton. Who else? Who else besides me deserves this?’ None of us do,” Doherty told “Good Morning America."The actor first revealed she had breast cancer in 2015 and has charted her battle with the disease on social media. (The Hill) – A new poll found that 70% of Americans, including 44% of Republicans, do not want former President Trump to make a White House run in 2024.The poll, released Thursday from The Associated Press and the University of Chicago’s research center NORC, also found that 93% of Democrats and 63% of independents do not want Trump to run. Respondents with a college degree were more likely to say he should not run than those without, though majorities of both groups — at 80% and 65%, respectively — said so.The results come as polling shows Trump has expanded his lead in a hypothetical GOP primary against potential rival Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). While DeSantis has not officially announced a presidential campaign, he is widely expected to enter the race.A Wall Street Journal poll released this week found Trump had a 13-point lead over DeSantis. A Harvard CAPS-Harris poll found that he had a 35-point lead over the Florida governor. The early returns suggest not

For the second time in two games, the Timberwolves fell short in Friday’s Game 3 against the Nuggets because they couldn’t get stops. A team that when at its best in the regular season was a defensive juggernaut now looks helpless on that end of the floor in the first round of the playoffs.Part of the credit for that belongs with Denver, an offensive annihilator featuring the likes of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr., who can all score 10 points in the blink of an eye. It’s nearly impossible to contain all three of them.Which made it all the more troublesome when the Nuggets got easy offense in Game 3 from Bruce Brown simply sizing up Karl-Anthony Towns at the top of the arc, and driving by the big man for easy buckets at the rim. Those are the types of plays that turn good offensive nights for a team into great ones, and vice versa for the defense.“I thought I saw a lot of 1 on 1 beats,” Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said. “You ...Will Byron Buxton play in the field this season? ‘I don’t think anyone truly knows,’ Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said

It was Byron Buxton jersey day at Target Field on Saturday, and fans who came to the park were able to watch the Twins star bat at the designated hitter.Again.Twenty games into the 2023 season, one of baseball’s best outfielders has yet to step on the grass for anything other than pregame drills. Are the Twins really going to DH Buxton all season?“I don’t know what I’m doing,” he said before Saturday’s 1:10 p.m. first pitch against Washington. “One day at a time.”Buxton was penciled in as the leadoff hitter against the Nationals. He woke up Saturday hitting .242 with two home runs, six RBIs, 11 walks and 25 strikeouts in 18 games. Hip and knee injuries limited him to 92 games last season, and his season was over on Aug. 22.It’s not a surprise that the Twins are being cautious with Buxton, who signed a seven-year, $100 million contract extension before the 2022 season. Plagued by injuries, he has played as many as 100 games only once in his career , 140 in 2017, but was the American ...Humane Society seeks adopters amid a spike in seized and stray dogs
