KIAMESHA LAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Department of Environmental Conservation Officers (ECOs) found a gun tossed by a fleeing suspected felon during a foot chase near Kiamesha Lake. ECOs did not release the suspect's name, but they say he faces several charges in Sullivan County. Get all of the latest news, weather, sports, and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! ECOs say, along with the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, they worked to find a handgun tossed by a suspect who fled on foot on Tuesday, February 28, near Kiamesha Lake. Due to conditions in the area, a K9 was sent in to try to find the missing handgun. The K9 couldn't find the gun, and ECOs used a metal detector to find it where they determined it was most likely thrown. The metal detector signaled the gun under snow in a ditch, and a deputy sheriff and ECO carefully uncovered the loaded .45 caliber handgun.Town-wide cleanup in Halfmoon starting March 22

HALFMOON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Due to the nor'easter that came through the Capital Region on Tuesday, the Town of Halfmoon Highway Department announced a town-wide cleanup to start on Wednesday, March 22, weather permitting. The cleanup will help residents safely and properly get rid of any downed trees, branches, or brush. Get all of the latest news, weather, sports, and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Residents are asked to bring their storm-related broken tree branches and brush to the curb, with larger ends facing the road. The Halfmoon Highway Department will start picking up tree branches and brush in the southern part of town, then work north. If a resident misses the cleanup, they may bring brush to the Transfer Station during operating hours free of charge. “Our Halfmoon Highway Department Team has been working around the clock in response to the winter storm," said Bill Bryans, Town of Halfmoon Superintendent of Highways and caretaker of the Transfer Station. ST. LOUIS - Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed new court documents late Wednesday night as part of his ongoing effort to have St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner removed from office. The documents indicated that Bailey plans to strengthen his original case.Bailey's latest filing says he wants to put everything on hold until next Tuesday. That's when Bailey shared that he will file an amended petition to his original motion, saying Gardner should be removed from office because she isn't doing her job. Bailey also wants the court to set a June trial date for the case.Part of Bailey's new filing explained that "the amended petition will provide respondent with notice of additional allegations that support the claims. ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis jury awards $15 million to the mother of a man who drowned in the Mississippi River.According to our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, back in 2019, 22-year-old Casey Redmond was working for Osage Marine Services when he and a supervisor were called to service a barge which was littered with debris and not equipped with non-slip coating. His body was never found.Prosecutors claim Osage Marine Services didn't make sure the barge was clean or safe, and didn't try to rescue Redmond after he fell.
