Three airmen parachuted to safety but Litherland and six other crew members were still on board when the plane crashed near Le Translay, France, authorities said.Six sets of remains were recovered near the crash site but only five were identified. In 2018, more material was recovered from the crash site and the unknown remains were exhumed from a cemetery in France. In September 2019, an armed forces medical team began testing the remains including Litherland's using DNA analysis. (NEXSTAR) – A rowdy night out or a pre-game tailgate is usually fun and games until the unfortunate but seemingly inevitable hangover catches up to you. When it does, it may be tempting to seek out a greasy breakfast sandwich from your favorite fast-food joint or opt for the “hair of the dog,” but you may want to reconsider. A hangover doesn’t necessarily mean the same thing to everyone, but it generally includes one or more symptoms experienced after drinking too much alcohol. These symptoms often include headaches, fatigue, nausea, stomach pain, thirst, muscle aches, vertigo, weakness, irritability, and sensitivity to light and sound, the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism explains. Why do I feel unwell after a night of drinking? It’s partially because alcohol is a diuretic, Beth Czerwony, a registered dietitian with Cleveland Clinic, tells Nexstar. Simply put, drinking alcohol is going to send you to the bathroom, and probably frequently. Why isn’...The 10 best cities for recent college graduates to rent in

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Sea surface temperatures have been rising steadily due, in part, to climate change. It was reported that 2023 bested 2016, the last year a global water temperature record was set.In early April, the average temperature of the ocean's surface reached 69.98°/21.1°C. It beat the annual record of 69.8°/21° set in March 2016 and is half a degree above the global average in the 30-year period from 1982 to 2011.How are the temperatures measured? Satellites take these readings about one meter (3.28 feet) below the surface. The results are then confirmed by buoys and ships. This year's peak was a cause for concern. The peak in early April got its start in previous years, including 2022, which was another hot year for sea-surface temperatures. How and why did this happen? Let's start with the human factor. Some people don't treat the oceans with respect. As some have seen in our Central Texas waterways, humans toss their trash — including beer cans, soda cans and plastic bottl...Police investigating Schenectady homicide

Memorial Day is supposed to be about mourning the nation’s fallen service members, but it’s come to anchor the unofficial start of summer and a long weekend of discounts on anything from mattresses to lawn mowers.Auto club AAA said in a travel forecast that this holiday weekend could be “one for the record books, especially at airports,” with more than 42 million Americans projected to travel 50 miles (80 kilometers) or more. Federal officials said Friday that the number of air travelers had already hit a pandemic-era high. But for Manuel Castañeda Jr., 58, the day will be a quiet one in Durand, Illinois, outside Rockford. He lost his father, a U.S. Marine who served in Vietnam, in an accident in California while training other Marines in 1966.“Memorial Day is very personal,” said Castañeda, who also served in the Marines and Army National Guard, from which he knew men who died in combat. “It isn’t just the specials. It isn’t just the barbecue.”But he tries not to judge others who sp...CIF state track and field championships: De La Salle’s Udeh caps prep career in style

This year’s winner of Presentation High School’s Nano Nagle Award has followed the example set by the founder of the Willow Glen private girls school, for whom the award is named. As president of the Associated Student Body, Grace Gallegos led Presentation’s annual Fall Food Drive. Students contribute food to the drive, but they also canvas their neighborhood for donations.“Each year we collect canned food and frozen turkeys over a period of months to benefit Sacred Heart Community Service,” said. Gallegos, who is valedictorian of the Class of 2023. “Every year, it is always hard to keep motivation going during the drive. We have to continually emphasize the reason as to why we do this.”Nano Nagle was motivated by the poverty she saw in her native Ireland, where she provided food and medicine to the infirm. She founded the first Presentation Convent in Cork, Ireland, in 1775.To help keep Presentation students healthy, Gallegos collected data to help them create a work-life balance. “...Latest news
