Prairie Lea student dies in crash over weekend in Caldwell County

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Four Prairie Lea ISD students were in a car accident over the weekend that left one student dead, the school district's athletic director said Monday. Dominic "DJ" Cubit died after a car accident that happened Sunday afternoon, the district said. Three other students had minor injuries from the crash. "Dominic “DJ” Cubit was more than the honor roll student and All-District athlete that those outside of the Prairie Lea school saw," Prairie Lea ISD said in a Facebook post. "He was the young man that always looked out for others, the first one to volunteer to help when needed and the last person to back away from a challenge. Those responsible for the contamination can either clean it up themselves or reimburse the government for the cleanup work. ST. LOUIS - More than five months after a life-changing tragedy in St. Louis, teenager Janae Edmondson will continue her recovery with her first set of prosthetic legs. Family members shared an update Tuesday on Janae, saying the prosthetics will help her train to walk after she lost her legs in a crash earlier this year. ST. LOUIS - A Hannibal man admitted to making a series of illegal pipe bombs last year. Joshua Rickey, 34, pled guilty Monday in federal court to one count of manufacturing one or more unregistered destructive devices and one count of possession of one or more unregistered destructive devices. Investigators say Rickey detonated one in a burned-out house across from his own home in late July 2022 and once lit one at his grandmother’s house, damaging a fence.The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says pipe bombs and other "improvised explosive devices constructed from various objects are prohibited and extremely dangerous." A person died in Reseda Tuesday morning after a stabbing led to officers firing their guns, authorities said.It is unclear when the incident was first reported, but police told KTLA that a person was stabbed multiple times in the 7600 block of Reseda Boulevard.Aerial video from Sky5 showed LAPD and Los Angeles Fire Department vehicles in a shopping center, as well as a white tarp over what appeared to be a body.At some point an officer-involved shooting occurred, but it is unclear if the person who is dead at the scene was stabbed by a suspect or shot by police. A cannabis delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects in San Bernardino County. According to a release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Victor Valley station, deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of Sand Court in the city of Adelanto around 5 p.m. Saturday evening on reports of a robbery. Upon arriving on scene deputies found the victim, only identified as a man who works as a delivery driver for a cannabis retailer, and learned that he had been robbed at gunpoint by two suspects who left the location in a Ford Taurus.
